AstheAlliesstormthebeachesofNormandy,HitlerordersthereturnoftheDasReich,theinfamousPanzerelitedivisionbestknownforitsmassmurdersintheUkraineandinBelarus,basedatthattimeinsouthwestofFrance. Itsmission:topushtheAlliesbackintotheAtlanticandturnthetideoftheconflictinfavoroftheGermans. TheSSdivision,with15,000menandmorethan200tanks,facesrelentlessattacksfromtheResistanceasitmovesnorththroughFrance. Alongtheway,itconductsviciousreprisalsandmassacresofcivilians(Oradour-sur-Glane,Tulle).ThefilmwillretracethelastyearofHitler’sdeathsquadandtheircrimesagainsthumanity. WewillfollowtheeverydaylivesoftheseSSofficers,theirrecruitmentandtrainingontheEasternFront,andtrytounderstandwhoexactlywerethesemenwhoperpetratedthemassacres.
