AlongsidehiscompanionfilmWhereGodIsNot,MyWorstEnemyfindsTamadonshiftingfocusfromtheinterrogatedtotheinterrogator.ThefilmmakersoughtanindividualwhohadbeeninterrogatedbyIranianauthoritiesinordertodrawontheirexperiencestoplayaninterrogator.TherolefinallyfelltotheCannes-winningleadactorofHolySpider,ZarAmirEbrahimi.Togetherinananonymousroom,withTamadonstrippedtohisunderwear,theyreconstructtheinterrogationprocess,whichgraduallybecomesanexaminationofthenatureofpowerandcoercion.Theresultingfilmisintenseand,attimes,uncomfortable.Andasitprogresses,MyWorstEnemybecomesanexplorationofcinema’srelationshipwithitsaudience,questioningwhetherthereisalimittowhatitcanshow.
